Mark Lanegan Band
The hyper-productive legend has built up a very impressive resume in the music industry, but the big breakthrough was his key performance at the Queens of The Stone Age album Songs For The Deaf. Lanegan continued to work with Josh Homme and fellows for about twelve years, but also continued to deliver solo craftsmanship. Before that (and in addition) he made music with Kurt Cobain, Isobell Campbell (Belle & Sebastian, PJ Harvey and many, many others). His unmistakable, lived-through voice, smothered with cigarette smoke, alcohol and suffering, lends itself perfectly to his extremely dark, melancholic music: every song is serious. Similarly to his latest album Gargoyle.
