This threesome from Dokkum were buckin’ wild in Texas: The Homesick kicked some fine ass at South by Southwest. These guys just played the biggest showcase festival in the world after having released their ridiculously awesome debut album Youth Hunt. It’s a record brimming with jagged noise-rock and catchy guitar riffs, with the lyrics often containing a nod to home port Dokkum, a place where boredom has led to idiosyncratic creativity. Youth Hunt’s success took them all across Europe, with them garnering more and more fans wherever they went, from England to Estonia. You’re in for a furious mix of shoegaze, post-punk, noise and a whiff of Boniface, playing right on the cutting edge.
